Yesterday afternoon my old antiquated computer finally gave up the ghost. It had been doing strange and unusual things for some time now, so last night I had to make an investment. In order to fulfill my commitment to you my prayer blog reader, I had to go to Best Buy and make a deposit into their coffers! I hope you appreciate my commitment!
Prayer is an investment. As you pray, there are spiritual deposits made in the heavens in your behalf. It's like sowing seeds. The exciting part is that it always yields a wonderful return. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:20 to "...lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal."
You see, your investment is protected better than anything your bank might promise you. It has a guaranteed heavenly return. If you're like me, you've had numerous times when you could have invested in things but didn't and then you say, "If only I would have bought that stock or purchased that piece of land..." Don't let this insiders investment tip pass you by.
So with that in mind...
1. Invest often! ("pray without ceasing" 1 Thess. 5:17)
2. Invest wisely! ("not my will but Thine be done" Matt. 6)
3. Invest thankfully. ("...but in everything by prayer...with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.")
4. Invest globally. ("ask of Me and I will give you the nations... Ps. 2:8)
5. Invest strategically. ("give us this day our daily bread.")
Blessings and be sure to attend church tonight. I'm beginning my New Years series, Bearing Fruit - Seven Principles of Productivity.
