Jan. 27th - Priority

"An established right to precedence". What are the priorities in your world? What has "an established right to precedence" at your house? What or who is at the top of your prioritized picking order?
It's important to prioritize. It's a valuable methodology of productive living. The process could be somewhat painful though. You see, in order to prioritize properly, you must take an open and honest snapshot of all that takes up your time and energy. It all has to be laid out on the table for honest analysis and from a spiritual perspective, it all has to be submitted to the One who is supposed to have the ultimate "established right to precedence" in our lives.
It's called lordship and it really is true that "if He's not Lord of all, He's not Lord at all."
My friend Ron Hammonds has an unsettling but valid insight to God's purpose and plan for our lives. He says, "God has a plan... He will succeed...Even if it costs Him your life". Paul shared the first principle of priority we all need to implement. "I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)
That's really where the process of priority begins. Jesus did it. Read Matthew 26:39. "...nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will." God's plan cost Jesus His life. What are you willing to give up to get God's eternal priorities properly aligned within your world?
It begins at the altar of sacrifice. The reality is this. He created us and He's the one who has the "established right to precedence" over us. We're His top priority.

Meet you here in the morning,
Sam
