Families are under fire. Undoubtedly you or someone close to you have had major issues within the family. Divorce continues to destroy the family unit. Strife within and strife without. Immorality and covenant breaking is common even within the family of God. Young men & women are entering adulthood with flawed perspectives and faltering foundations. It's heartbreaking to me. It doesn't have to be that that way.
I'm so thankful for my family as well as the family of faith that God has so graciously given to me. I'm a blessed man. What did I do to deserve such a blessed life? Well I do give God all the glory but let me share a few one liners that I think conspired together with the mercy of God to allow me to be so blessed.
- Strong parental leadership.
- Good family fun.
- Consistent spiritual influence.
- Development of great friends.
- Strong loving discipline.
- Good parents on both sides of the family.
- Strong local church support.
- Family involvement in ministry.
- Good communication with kids.
- Good attitudes
- Kids camp & youth camp.
- A small tight knit community.
These aren't requirements, just some building blocks that have helped Beverly and me stay married now for over 28 years and raise three wonderful children who have grown up to be healthy God fearing, church going adults. I'm a blessed man.
We all met over at Staci's house last night and played games. I came in last...I lost the game...but I left feeling like I'd won the lottery. I'm a blessed man.
Meet you here in the morning,
Sam
